Golden Origami Crane

Here is a picture of my blog's namesake.  My mother grew up in Japan, so at an early age she taught me to make origami (literally translated 'folding paper') creatures and objects. Probably the most well known origami object is the crane, a symbol of good luck. Below are two pictures from my wedding where we folded about 800 golden cranes to decorate and to serve as a memory of my mother's parents who had passed away a few years previously.
