Origami Snail

Here are instructions to make this cute and easy origami snail. I like it as its not the first thing you envision making when you think of origami. Click below to see more.

Start with a square piece of paper.

Fold into a triangle.

Fold again into a triangle

Open and squash one triangle. Do the same for the other side.

Take the sides of the square and fold to meet in the middle like above

Do this to both sides.

Now open to the square shape.

Take one layer of one corner, open, and squash to make the above triangle.

Do this for the remaining 3 square corners.

You will have two sides that are completely colored and two with white showing. Make sure you are looking at the sides with white showing.

Take the corners and fold inward to the middle as shown above.

Now take the newly folded corners and fold again meeting in the middle.

Do this to the other side.

Fold the flaps so you are looking at this view. There should be four folds/flaps on each side.

Fold the smaller top part of the kite shape down to make a crease.

Fold the inner points out as pictured above.

These are the snail's 'antennae'

Fold the two points between the antennae as shown above.

This is now your snail's head!

Begin opening up the shell.

Carefully pull apart the folds.

Here you go! Enjoy!
