Boston Harbor Islands Part 1

One of our favorite places to visit is the Boston Harbor Islands! We love taking advantage of our proximity to the city and the different things there to visit. After free parking at the Bunker Hill monument it's about a 2 mile walk to the harbor where you catch a ferry to one of the many islands off the coast of Boston.

Here is a fort at one of the islands we past on the ferry. The islands are beautiful and have great views of the harbor, sailboats, and lighthouses but the absolute best part are the forts on the islands that you are free to explore!

Here is a door that was open for the first time since we have been coming. If you want to find out what was behind it you will have to go visit Fort Warren at George's Island for yourself!

I think this is the neatest view inside the fort (other than the hidden rooms and dark passageways). I always take a picture of this hall each time we come.

Stay tuned for more pictures from our recent trip!
