Old Manse

A few days ago my 10 month old and I headed out on an adventure to Concord. I love the area and there is so much history there! We went and visited the Old Manse, a house that Nathaniel Hawthorne lived in for a few years. We got to see the room and desk where he penned some of his short stories.

Here is the picture of the back of the Old Manse. It was built by Ralph Waldo Emerson's grandfather. There is lots of literary history tied up in this place! While the Hawthornes were renting, they would scratch messages in the glass window panes with Mrs. Hawthorne's diamond ring. You can still read them today!
